Laundromats have long been recognized by investors as recession-resistant businesses. Clean clothes are a basic need. The current pandemic has further illustrated how important vended laundries are to society. When most other businesses are closed, laundromats have received the “essential” tag by the Federal Government and are allowed to stay open – access to clean laundry is paramount to slowing the spread of the virus.

Even in these difficult times, development of vended laundries continues. Sam Husain, director of operations of sales and service at CLEC in Dallas, illustrated that point in sharing a video displaying installation of a new Speed Queen store

Husain points out that technology, such as Quantum Touch controls, mobile payment and the Speed Queen Insights suite of tools, will help the laundry limit touch points and provide a safe environment. The intuitive Quantum Touch control also offers great flexibility to position preferred cleaning cycles and additional options – additional rinse, wash, hot water wash, etc. – using real words to ensure customers know exactly what they are getting during a pandemic or future crisis.
