In an era where instant gratification is the norm, technology serves an important purpose. Yes, even in the laundry room. Campuses are competing to offer students the best experience and a higher quality of life – yet still for an affordable price.

Brett Winig, director of sales and partner at CALECO, said institutions are placing renewed attention on their laundry facilities as they are often the lowest-ranked amenity on campuses across the country.

The key to a laundry system that not only meets students’ needs but acts as a selling point for a university is working with a service provider that can create solutions specific to each campus. Colleges are increasingly looking to technology to help create an all-around pleasant experience.

For example, East Stroudsburg University worked with CALECO, who recommended Speed Queen front-load washing machines. These washers work well for universities because of the lower water use and high spin speed, which leads to reduced overall time students need to spend doing their laundry.
