We all know laundromats are a great business to be in for many reasons, with return on investment being a big one. But there’s so much more. Laundromats, at their best, are integral parts of the community, and as such, reflect the uniqueness of their neighborhood.
In a recent column on the ultrarunning site irunfar, The North Face ultrarunner, Zach Miller, discussed his love of laundromats and the opportunities they present for human interactions. He’s a fan of the “cast of characters” he finds at the Speed Queen Laundromat in Manitou Springs, Colo.
Zach discusses how the venues for human interactions seem to be dwindling in our digital world, but laundromats remain one of the few places…along with trailheads he encounters in training.
